About Port-Gentil
Port-Gentil is Gabon's second city and its oil capital, on an island at the mouth of the Ogooué River. For travelers it's mainly the jumping-off point for Loango National Park: charter flights and boats to the park leave from here, since there's no direct overland route. It has its own urban beaches, though the real draw of the area lies further south, in Loango.
