Nouadhibou

Nouadhibou is Mauritania's second city and main fishing port, on a narrow peninsula facing the Atlantic Ocean. It's famous for the world's largest ship graveyard — hundreds of rusting hulls stranded in the bay, some there since the 1980s — and is the usual base for visiting Banc d'Arguin National Park further south. It's also the arrival point for those crossing the Sahara by car from Morocco along the coastal route.
