About Essaouira
Essaouira needs 2 days: the walled medina facing the Atlantic on one, and the beach (popular for windsurfing and kitesurfing) on the other. April-October brings the best weather, though the city's characteristic strong wind blows nearly year-round. It's cheaper than Marrakech, with a more relaxed, less mass-touristy feel. Its constant strong trade wind, which makes it uncomfortable for traditional beachgoers, is exactly what turned it into one of Africa's best windsurfing and kitesurfing destinations.
