About Chefchaouen
Chefchaouen needs 2 days: getting lost in its blue-painted alleys is practically the only activity, and it's more than enough. March-May brings mild weather in the Rif mountains ahead of summer heat. It's cheaper than Marrakech or Fez, with a relaxed mountain-town feel. Its medina, painted entirely in shades of blue since the 1930s (with various theories on the origin: mosquito repellent, Jewish symbolism, or simple aesthetics), is one of Morocco's most photographed sights and isn't replicated in any other city in the country.
