Windhoek needs 2 days: the center with its German colonial architecture on one, and the market and Namibian history museums on the other. May-October is the dry season, with cool nights due to altitude. It's cheaper than other African capitals for international tourists. It's one of the few African capitals with a strong German architectural heritage (Namibia was a German colony until 1915), visible in its Lutheran churches and historic buildings, an uncommon cultural combination on the continent.
