Serengeti

The Serengeti is the heart of the African safari: endless savanna plains home to the planet's largest concentration of big mammals, crossed at some point each year by the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra (in the central and southern Serengeti from December to June, moving north into Kenya's Mara between July and October). Unlike Ngorongoro or Amboseli, it's vast — covering different zones takes several days and camps — which is why it's usually the base for a week-long safari or longer, not a day trip.
