Lusaka needs 1 day: the National Museum of Zambia, with exhibits on local history and contemporary art, and Soweto Market, one of the largest in Central Africa, are the main reason to visit. May-October is best. It's inexpensive by international standards. It's Zambia's capital and largest city, and it functions mainly as a connecting hub toward Victoria Falls, the safaris of South Luangwa National Park, and Lake Kariba, the world's largest artificial reservoir by water volume.
