About Sheki
Sheki needs 1 day: the Palace of the Sheki Khans, with stained-glass shebeke windows assembled without nails or glue, is the main reason to visit. April-October is best. It's inexpensive by international standards. It was a key Silk Road stop and capital of an independent khanate in the 18th century, and its historic center -including the palace and a still-standing 19th-century caravanserai- has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2019.
