About Qingdao
Qingdao needs 2 days: the German quarter, with red-stone villas and the Bavarian-style Catholic church, on one, and the Tsingtao Beer Museum, housed in the original 1903 brewery, with tasting included, on the other. May-September brings the best beach weather. It's mid-priced for China. It was a German colonial concession between 1898 and 1914, and that legacy left behind not just its architecture but the Tsingtao Brewery, founded by German settlers and today one of China's most widely exported beer brands.
