About Jaipur
Jaipur needs 2 days: Amber Fort and the Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal) on one, and the City Palace and the Jantar Mantar observatory on the other. October-March avoids the extreme heat of the Indian summer, which can exceed 45°C. It's inexpensive by international standards, with crafts and textiles at very affordable prices. It's known as the «Pink City» for the color its historic buildings were painted in 1876 to welcome the Prince of Wales, and forms one vertex of India's tourist «Golden Triangle» alongside Delhi and Agra.
