Kuta (Bali)

Kuta needs 3 days: its surf beach (ideal for beginners) on one, and its intense nightlife and shopping malls for the rest. April-October is the dry season with better surfing waves. It's more expensive than Ubud, with prices rising due to strong demand from international beach tourism. It was the original gateway for mass tourism in Bali since the 1970s, and its combination of beginner-friendly waves and intense nightlife made it Indonesia's best-known beach destination, though today it coexists with dense, somewhat chaotic urban development.
