Kuwait City needs 2 days: the Kuwait Towers, with their rotating observation deck over the Persian Gulf, on one, and Souk Al-Mubarakiya, a traditional market with over a century of history, on the other. November-March avoids extreme desert heat. It's expensive for the region, with no mass tourism offering. Its three Kuwait Towers, completed in 1979, are the country's architectural symbol, combining water storage with a panoramic observation deck and revolving restaurant, and the city, rebuilt after the 1990-91 Iraqi invasion, maintains a more traditional identity than its Gulf neighbors, with less openness to international tourism.
