Bagan needs 2 days by e-bike or sunrise hot air balloon to cover its plain of over 2,000 Buddhist temples. November-February is the cool, dry season. It's inexpensive, among Southeast Asia's cheapest destinations. It was the capital of a Burmese empire between the 9th and 13th centuries that built over 10,000 temples on its plain; those that survive form one of the largest concentrations of ancient Buddhist architecture on the planet.
