About Boracay
Boracay needs 3 days: White Beach, 4 km of extremely fine white sand, on one, water sports and kitesurfing at Bulabog Beach on another, and a traditional sailboat (paraw) sunset excursion on the third. November-May is the dry season. It's mid-to-high priced by Philippine standards, the country's most expensive island. In 2018 the Philippine government closed it entirely to tourism for 6 months to fix its sewage system, which had collapsed from tourism overexploitation, an exceptional case of a government shutting down its own most profitable destination to save it from environmental decay.
