About Jeddah
Jeddah needs 2 days: the historic city of Al-Balad (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) on one, and the corniche facing the Red Sea on the other. November-March avoids the humid coastal summer heat. It's somewhat more accessible than Riyadh, with a more cosmopolitan identity as the traditional gateway for pilgrims heading to Mecca. It's Saudi Arabia's most liberal and diverse city, and its historic Al-Balad quarter preserves centuries-old coral-stone buildings, unique in the world for their construction technique.
