About Sofia
Sofia needs 2 days: the historic center with Alexander Nevsky Cathedral on one, and Mount Vitosha (accessible by cable car from the city) on the other. May-September brings the best weather. It's among the cheapest capitals in the European Union. It's one of Europe's oldest capitals, with over 7,000 years of continuous settlement, and its mix of Roman ruins, Ottoman and Soviet architecture makes it a historical mosaic little explored by mass European tourism.
