About Kaysersberg
Kaysersberg takes just a few hours: a fortified 16th-century bridge over the Weiss River and the castle ruins overlooking the village from a hilltop. April-September is best for walking among the surrounding vineyards. It's cheap and less crowded than Colmar or Riquewihr. It was voted «French people's favorite village» in 2017 and is the birthplace of physician and theologian Albert Schweitzer, Nobel Peace Prize winner, whose childhood home is now a small museum on the main street.
