Yvoire

Yvoire takes half a day to see: the walled medieval old town on the shores of Lake Geneva, with the Garden of Five Senses inside its 14th-century castle as the main extra draw, is essentially the whole village. May-September is best. It's mid-priced by French standards. It's one of the «most beautiful villages of France», with direct views of the Swiss shore of the lake from its own harbor, just a few kilometers from Geneva.
