About Concarneau
Concarneau needs 1 day: the Ville Close, a 14th-century walled old town built on its own islet and linked by a footbridge, with narrow stone streets and views of the fishing harbor, is the heart of the visit. June-September is best. It's inexpensive by French standards. It was historically France's most important tuna port, nicknamed the «Blue City» for the fleet of boats that sailed out into the Atlantic, and every August it still holds the Blue Nets Festival, one of Brittany's oldest maritime celebrations.
