About Epernay
Épernay takes 1 day to see: the Avenue de Champagne, a street of 19th-century mansions housing the great champagne houses such as Moët & Chandon and Perrier-Jouët, with over 100 kilometers of underground cellars beneath the town, is almost the sole reason to visit. April-October is best. It's mid-to-high priced by French standards. It's considered the world capital of champagne, and its cellars -a UNESCO World Heritage Site alongside those of Reims- reportedly hold hundreds of millions of bottles aging underground at any given time.
