About Ajaccio
Ajaccio needs 2 days: the Bonaparte House, where Napoleon Bonaparte was born and spent his childhood before becoming Emperor of France, on one day, and the beaches of the Gulf of Ajaccio, with the Sanguinaires Islands as a backdrop at sunset, on the other. May-September is best for the beach. It's mid-to-high priced by French standards. It's the capital of Corsica and Napoleon's birthplace, whose presence is felt throughout the city -from the equestrian statue in the main square to the museum devoted entirely to his family.
