West of Paris, the Bois de Boulogne is a forest of over 800 hectares, almost ten times the size of Central Park: it has two lakes with rowboats, a racecourse, botanical gardens like the Parc de Bagatelle (famous for its roses) and miles of paths for walking, running or biking away from the city noise. It was Parisian aristocracy's favorite green lung since the 19th century.
