Rocamadour

Rocamadour takes 1 day to see: the village itself, literally built in vertical layers on a 150-meter cliff dropping into the Alzou valley, with the Marian sanctuary halfway up, is the attraction. April-October is best. It's mid-priced by French standards. It's one of Europe's oldest Christian pilgrimage sites, visited since the Middle Ages, and those who don't want to climb the 216 steps to the sanctuary on foot can take a panoramic lift built into the rock itself.
