About Konstanz
Konstanz needs 1 day: the old town on the shores of Lake Constance, on the Swiss border, with the cathedral that hosted the Council of Constance (1414-1418), which ended the Western Schism, is the main reason to visit. May-September is best for the lake. It's mid-to-high priced by German standards. According to local tradition, it was the only German city to escape Allied bombing in World War II because its night lights, seen from the air, were mistaken for those of neighboring, neutral Switzerland.
