About Fussen
Füssen needs a day, almost entirely dedicated to Neuschwanstein Castle (the one that inspired the Disney castle) and its neighbor Hohenschwangau. May-September brings the best Alpine weather. It's cheaper than Munich, though advance-booking castle tickets add to the budget. Its Neuschwanstein Castle, built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria in the 19th century as a personal romantic fantasy, is Germany's most photographed castle and the direct inspiration for the Disney logo.
