About Bonn
Bonn needs 1 day: Beethoven's House, where the composer was born in 1770, in a morning walk, and a tour of the former government quarter along the Rhine, in the afternoon. April-October is best. It's mid-priced by German standards. It was West Germany's «provisional» capital between 1949 and 1990 -chosen partly for its modest size, so as not to look like a permanent replacement for Berlin-, and it remains home to several UN agencies and some federal ministries today.
