Koblenz needs 1 day: the Deutsches Eck («German Corner»), the point of land where the Moselle river flows into the Rhine, marked by a monumental equestrian statue of Emperor Wilhelm I, is the central point of the visit. April-October is best. It's inexpensive by German standards. It's the gateway to the Middle Rhine Gorge, a stretch of river declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its castles, terraced vineyards and riverside villages, and its name comes from the Latin «confluentes», for its exact location at the confluence of the two rivers.
