About Gorlitz
Görlitz takes 1 day to see: the historic center, with over 4,000 protected buildings that escaped World War II bombing almost intact, is the main reason to visit, with the Neisse river -which today separates the German city from Polish Zgorzelec- as a natural border. April-October is best. It's very inexpensive by German standards. Its old town, considered one of Germany's best-preserved, became a regular filming location nicknamed «Görliwood», used in movies such as «The Grand Budapest Hotel» and «Inglourious Basterds».
