About Kamari (Santorini)
Kamari can be seen in a day: its black volcanic sand beach, uncommon in the world, and the seafront promenade with seafood restaurants are enough for a relaxed day. May-June brings the best weather ahead of peak season. It's cheaper than Fira or Oia, with a family beach vibe rather than a romantic/exclusive one. Its black sand, a result of the volcanic activity that formed the island, heats up considerably in the sun and contrasts sharply with the turquoise sea, something rarely seen on any other Greek beach.
