About Brindisi
Brindisi needs 1 day: the Roman Columns by the harbor, which once marked the official end of the Via Appia -the road linking Rome to the southern Adriatic- and now stand as a single surviving one, and the Swabian Castle, built on the orders of Frederick II in the 13th century, in a single day. April-June and September-October bring the mildest weather. It's inexpensive for southern Italy. Its natural harbor, one of the deepest and most sheltered on the Adriatic, was an embarkation point for the Crusades to the Holy Land and remains Italy's main sea link to Greece today.
