Trajan's Market offers a tantalizing glimpse of what Rome was really like at the absolute height of its power, under Emperor Trajan. This ancient site was a high-end commercial complex, designed by one of the greatest architects of the Roman era. Today it houses a museum dedicated to the various extensions of the Roman Forum built from the time of Julius Caesar onward. The site is fully wheelchair accessible and open seven days a week.
