About Camogli
Camogli takes 1 day to see: walking along the seafront lined with tall, colorful houses painted with trompe-l'œil windows and decorations, typical of Genoese architecture, and heading down to its pebble beach for a swim, in a single day. May-September is best. It's mid-priced for the Riviera di Levante, more affordable than Portofino. Its name may come from «Ca' dei mogli» («house of the wives»), for the fishermen's wives who ran the town during long voyages, and every second Sunday of May it holds the Sagra del Pesce, frying fish for thousands of visitors in a giant pan over 4 meters across.
