About Manarola
Manarola takes half a day to see: the colorful houses stacked on the cliff dropping straight to the sea, linked by the Via dell'Amore to neighboring Riomaggiore, are essentially the whole village, complemented by a swim off the rocks of its small cove. April-October is best. It's mid-to-high priced by Italian standards, being part of the Cinque Terre. It's one of the five villages of the Cinque Terre National Park, with no vehicle access to the center, and its steep, hand-worked vineyard terraces produce the Sciacchetrà white wine, considered one of Liguria's best.
