About Cortina d'Ampezzo
Cortina d'Ampezzo needs 2 days: hiking to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, three dolomitic rock towers that are the most photographed symbol of the Dolomites, on one, and skiing its slopes -host of the 1956 Winter Olympics and, alongside Milan, the 2026 Games- on the other. July-September brings the best hiking weather; December-March is ski season. It's expensive, one of Italy's most exclusive mountain destinations. It was the first Italian city to host a Winter Olympics, in 1956, and its return as host in 2026 -70 years later- made it the only city in the world to host the Games twice with seven decades in between.
