May-September is best. It's inexpensive for Europe. Rebuilt from rubble after losing 70% of its buildings in World War II, when it passed from German (Breslau) to Polish hands, its bronze gnomes -which started in the 1990s as a symbol of an underground anti-communist movement- multiplied into a one-of-a-kind urban scavenger hunt.
