The National Coach Museum has its origins in 1905, when it was housed in the antiquities hall of the Royal Riding School in Belém. Since then it has undergone a series of changes, including the opening of a new building in 2015. The new National Coach Museum not only holds a larger collection of carriages, but is also considered part of the urban infrastructure, providing a space of public use for Lisbon.
