About Piran
Piran needs a day: the Venetian old town at the tip of a tiny peninsula can be fully explored in a few hours. May-September brings the best Adriatic weather. It's cheaper than nearby Italian or Croatian coastal towns. It's the best-preserved town on Slovenia's brief coastline (just 47km of coast), with nearly intact Venetian architecture, the result of having been part of the Republic of Venice for centuries.
