About Ljubljana
Ljubljana needs 2 days: the old town by the Ljubljanica river on one, and Ljubljana Castle (accessible by funicular) on the other. May-September brings the best weather. It's cheaper than most Western European capitals. It's one of Europe's greenest, most pedestrian-friendly capitals, with the historic center closed to car traffic since 2007, and it was European Green Capital in 2016 for its sustainable mobility model, little known outside the region despite its level of urban development.
