Bled

Bled needs 2 days: the island in the middle of the lake (with its church and traditional wishing bell) on one, and Bled Castle on a cliff on the other. May-September brings the best weather for a pletna (traditional boat) ride on the lake. It's more expensive than other parts of Slovenia due to its international tourist fame. Its glacial lake with turquoise waters, home to the country's only natural island at its center, is Slovenia's most recognized image and one of Central Europe's most photographed sights.
