Gijón can be seen in 2 days: the urban San Lorenzo beach, Santa Catalina hill with Chillida's Elogio del Horizonte sculpture, and the old fishing quarter of Cimavilla share the time. June-September brings the best weather, though never as hot as southern Spain. Prices are affordable, among the north's most economical cities. Its mix of urban beach, repurposed industrial heritage (old factories now cultural centers) and traditional cider houses sets it apart from other Asturian coastal destinations.
