Taramundi

Taramundi needs 1 day: visiting one of the forges where traditional Taramundi pocket knives are still hand-forged, in the morning, and touring the Os Teixois Mills Route, a set of restored water mills, in the afternoon. May-September brings the mildest weather. It's inexpensive by Asturian standards. It was the first town in Spain to develop a rural tourism model, in 1985, becoming a national reference for the sector, and its knife-making craft -with hand-forged blades passed down for generations- is recognized as one of the most prestigious in Spain.
