About Vitoria-Gasteiz
Vitoria-Gasteiz can be seen in a day: the almond-shaped medieval old town and the green belt surrounding the city are enough for a full day. May-September brings the most pleasant weather in Basque inland areas. It's one of Spain's cheapest provincial capitals, well off the mass tourism circuit. It was named European Green Capital in 2012 for its perimeter greenbelt model, and today is a little-known-abroad reference for sustainable urban planning despite its high quality of life.
