Potes

Potes needs 1 day: touring the town, with its stone bridges over the Deva river and its Torre del Infantado, and crossing the Hermida Gorge, one of Spain's deepest river canyons, in a single day. May-June and September avoid both winter snow and summer crowds. It's inexpensive. It's the usual gateway to the Picos de Europa on the Cantabrian side, and from here departs the Fuente Dé cable car, which climbs nearly 800 meters in under 4 minutes to a natural viewpoint over the massif.
