About Burgos
Burgos can be seen in a day: the Gothic Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Spain's most elaborate, anchors the visit along with the old town. May-September avoids the characteristic cold of the northern plateau, where winters run long. Prices are low, among Spain's most affordable provincial capitals. Its Cathedral, begun in 1221, took over three centuries to complete and is Spain's third-largest, also holding the remains of El Cid.
