About Segovia
Segovia can be seen in a day trip from Madrid (a 30-minute high-speed train ride): the Roman Aqueduct, the Alcázar (said to have inspired Disney fairy-tale castles) and the Cathedral can all be covered in that time. April-June brings mild weather ahead of the dry Castilian summer heat. Prices are affordable, similar to other cities in Castile and León. Its nearly 2,000-year-old Roman Aqueduct, built without mortar, still stands in the heart of the city as one of the world's best-preserved works of Roman engineering.
