About Peratallada
Peratallada takes just a few hours: a medieval fortified village virtually uninhabited until just a few decades ago, with a moat carved directly into the rock -hence its name, «carved stone»- surrounding the entire old town. April-October is best. It's cheap, with little lodging within the village itself. It's considered one of the best-preserved medieval complexes in Catalonia, having never undergone massive restoration -unlike other touristy villages in the region-, giving it a genuinely aged, little-altered look.
