Cáceres

Cáceres can be seen in a day: its walled old town, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval and Renaissance monumental complexes, can be fully covered in a few hours. April-June brings mild weather ahead of Extremadura's extreme summer heat, among the highest in Spain. It's one of the cheapest cities among Spain's UNESCO sites. Its old town, virtually untouched since the 15th century, has served as a filming location for medieval-set series and films thanks to its authenticity, including Game of Thrones.
