About Combarro
Combarro needs 1 day: touring the stone seafront promenade, with its hórreos -raised stone-and-wood granaries typical of Galicia- built literally over the sea, and its carved stone cruceiros (wayside crosses) scattered throughout the village, in a single day. June-September brings the mildest weather in the Rías Baixas. It's inexpensive, off Galicia's mass tourism circuit. Its hórreos by the water, with the tide rising to the stone legs holding them up, are among the most photographed in all of Spain, and the ensemble has been a Site of Cultural Interest since 1972.
