For more than three decades, Fundación MAPFRE has been one of the highlights of Madrid's cultural scene thanks to its Fine Arts and Photography exhibitions. Its program includes painting and sculpture exhibitions focused on great masters (Renoir, Van Gogh, Picasso, Degas, Chagall, etc.) and major movements of artistic modernity (Impressionism, Avant-garde, Surrealism, etc.). The Photography exhibitions also span from the great 20th-century masters (Atget, Evans, Winogrand, Strand...) to those representing the best of today's artistic photography. The Foundation is housed in the Palacio de la Duquesa de Medina de las Torres, built between 1881 and 1884, a building highly representative of the city's architecture.
