Pamplona can be seen in 2 days: the old town and the Citadel on one, with plenty of time outside July to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. May-September is the general season, though the Sanfermines (July 6-14) are the city's absolute peak. Prices spike during that week, among Spain's most expensive at that time, and return to affordable the rest of the year. Its Sanfermines, with the bull run through the old town's streets made world-famous by Hemingway, draw over a million visitors in just nine days.
